Fishing in Devon during the October half term was an experience! It was on a full moon day and the ride was very big so it was not very good for catching fish. However we left our lines out to catch flat fish such as Plaice but were rewarded with. Turbot, which is a very highly rated fish as it’s meat is very tender and creamy in texture. We had it for dinner and the bones surprised me, they were very strong, you could use them as a hair pin!
The Dartmouth Food Festival was full of locally produced food and drink, as well as master classes with chefs for adults and children.
We took our friend’s dog on many wonderful walks through the hills and valleys and on the beach. I must say we were lucky with the weather, it can rain a lot in Devon!
